Chicago Recovery Community Supports Angie’s Braveheart 5K Walk for Domestic Violence Awareness

Chicago Recovery Community (CRC) was honored to participate in the 3rd Annual Angie’s Braveheart 5K Walk, a community event dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence, honoring survivors, and promoting healing through advocacy and support.

Held in October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the event brought together community members, organizations, advocates, and supporters who share a commitment to ending domestic violence and creating safer, healthier communities for individuals and families.

The walk served as more than just a community gathering—it was an opportunity to stand in solidarity with survivors, remember those impacted by domestic violence, and help raise awareness about resources available to individuals seeking support. Attendees participated in a day filled with empowerment, education, community engagement, and meaningful conversations focused on prevention and healing.

As a participating organization, Chicago Recovery Community connected with attendees, shared information about available resources, and supported the event’s mission of encouraging awareness, advocacy, and hope. CRC recognizes that many individuals facing recovery challenges, housing instability, and other hardships may also be impacted by trauma, abuse, or unsafe living situations, making community partnerships and resource awareness critically important.

Events like the Angie’s Braveheart 5K Walk highlight the power of communities coming together to create change. By increasing awareness and encouraging open conversations, organizations and advocates can help reduce stigma, promote safety, and ensure that survivors know they are not alone.

Chicago Recovery Community extends its gratitude to Angie’s Braveheart Domestic Violence Awareness Network, event organizers, volunteers, community partners, and all participants who helped make the event a meaningful success. Their dedication continues to inspire awareness, compassion, and action throughout our communities.

CRC remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote healing, empowerment, recovery, and overall community well-being. Together, we can continue building stronger communities where individuals feel safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help and support are available. We encourage individuals to seek assistance through trusted local organizations, advocates, and support networks.
