Shantice Thomas is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Recovery Community (CRC), where she provided strategic, results- driven leadership and oversees a comprehensive range of wraparound services for individuals and families in need. Her expertise in human resources, including operations, compensation and benefits, employee benchmarking, and change managements, plays a key role in building a strong organizational culture that attracts and retains dedicated volunteers to support CRC’s outreach efforts.
\Since beginning her career in business management in 2019, Shantice has successfully helped organizations strengthen their structure and achieve sustainable growth. Her work has increasingly focused on improving quality of life for individuals experiencing homelessness, youth impacted by sex trafficking, and veterans in crisis. She is a passionate advocate for underserved populations, with a particular commitment to supporting veterans and expanding access to essential resources and services.
Shantice holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business, a Master of Business Administration, and certifications in management and human resources. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Psychology (2025).
Motivated by personal experience witnessing a family member face homelessness, Shantice founded CRC to deliver direct, meaningful support to those in need. Under her leadership, the organization works to reduce homelessness and housing insecurity through service, community collaboration, and targeted outreach initiatives across Chicago.
She has a strong passion for eradicating homelessness, particularly homelessness among veterans and youth. After witnessing her veteran uncle fall victim to homelessness, Shantice decided to create a nonprofit organization that offers direct services to the homeless community. Chicago Recovery Community strives to make an impact to reduce the number of homeless and housing insecure individuals in the city through service and action. In addition to the direct distribution of resources, Shantice collaborates with local organizations to help strengthen the community and provide support to the otherwise disregarded population.
